I have books full of photos from when my boys were younger but I find the number of photos I take of them gets less and less each year. It gets tough as they grow up but I'm determined to still get them in the frame every now and then. You'll find more of my personal life on instagram stories and in the odd blog post but here are a few shots of my crew.
And everyone knows to get that you have to be relaxed and having fun. I can't tell you to hold a pose and expect you not to look stiff. I threw out the idea of the 'perfect family photo' years ago - sure we may get a shot or two of everyone looking at the camera for Gramma and Grampa, that's usually what they like, but what I love is those in between moments, the laughter, the love... the real stuff.
My family isn't perfect. In fact, I don't know any family that is. And that's the beauty of families... they're full of their own quirks, and little idiosyncrasies. Each one has it's own story, it's own personalities that make it unique. I don't want to strip you of those and make you sit perfectly still for that attempt at perfection. I want you to be who you are as a family and I'll find the beauty in that.
